With the development of information technology, it is much easier for both teachers and students to enjoy the advanced teaching and learning. For teachers, all kinds of multimedia devices enable them to present their students an all-round class. For students, multimedia-aided teaching means they can get access to knowledge not only in the classroom, but also through the online class, or online library. When they have questions, they needn’t wait until the office hours, now they can just send a letter to their teacher’s online office whenever they need assistance.
There are also teachers and students who prefer the chalk-and-blackboard teaching because they find the computer screen a hateful wall that separates their once close relationship. Teachers couldn’t know their students’ reaction because their eyes are focusing on the screen. Students miss the powerful gestures of their orator-like teachers, as now their teachers are busying in holding the mouse.
Multimedia brings so many conveniences to our study and teaching, but we should always keep in mind that it is just an assistant tool. Teachers and students were, are and will forever be the leading characters in the classroom.
